Welcome
Are you prepared to put something back into your local community? If so and you would enjoy making some new friends along the way, the King’s Lynn Lions and Lionesses want to hear from you.
The King’s Lynn clubs are part of the world’s largest Community Service organisation specialising in voluntary work. This can vary from support for a local appeal such as the radio frequency knife recently presented to the QEH to major disaster relief projects worldwide.
Both Clubs have a busy year lined up including the Town’s family Fun day on the Walks on Sunday 1st June and a weekend fund raiser at Snettisham’s Norton Hill Light Railway on August Bank Holiday. Consequently they are on the prowl for new members, ideally from their 30s to early 60s.
Each club meets on average twice a month in King’s Lynn, one evening being a business meeting, the other a social which could be a meal, a visit to the theatre or occasionally a speaker meeting.
The Lions assist with transport to the Local Gateway Club, bring Santa to Town and sell hot dogs at Festival Too. The Lionesses fund raise through charity stalls, fashion shows and other promotions. Some of their profits buy soft toy lions for the local ambulance service to offset trauma in children who have been in accidents. |
